Midland North Carolina is located in southern Cabarrus County
It is 30 minutes from Charlotte. It was named “Midland” because it is halfway between Charlotte and Oakboro on the railroad line. Visitors are often surprised by the pronunciation of the name- with equal verbal emphasis on both the first and last syllables with the correct pronunciation being “MID-LAND” and not “MID-lind.”
